Biography

Philip Murphy

Philip earned his degree in physiotherapy from Ulster University in 2013, prior to this he graduated in the specialist sports musculoskeletal course, Athletic Therapy and Training from Dublin City University.

He began his career in the UK working in private practice in London developing skills in manual therapy and biomechanics assessments, before moving on to various NHS rotations in the areas of orthopaedics, neurology and rehabilitation.

He then moved to the USA where he expanded his knowledge by working with a varied caseload of patients in Chicago, Illinois. Through various additional roles, he has gained experience working with sports teams throughout Ireland and the USA, and healthcare technology like virtual reality and telehealth.

Foot and Ankle

Philip has a strong background in general physiotherapy, including rehabilitation and exercise-based interventions, and specialises in the foot and ankle. He is happy to assist with the treatment of recent or longer-term foot and ankle conditions, management of running injuries, as well as conducting gait analysis, providing orthotics and advising on biomechanics and footwear.

The personal approach to patient care is underpinned by a high level of communication, as well as adhering to the base of research that exists in physiotherapy and rehabilitation. The goal of Model Physio & Foot Clinic is to provide self-management strategies for each condition, and the aim to provide only high value care for each follow-up session.

The clinics are located in JJ Murphy Footwear Wexford and Enniscorthy, which are long-established shoe shops in the town centres. Patients will be offered comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and treatment, as well as suitable footwear and customised or off the shelf orthotics, all in one building.
